Ys (also spelled Is or Kêr-Is in Breton, and Ville d’Ys in French), is a mythical city that was built on the coast of Brittany and later swallowed by the ocean. It is said that the city of Ys was the best capital of the world and that Lutece was called Paris because “Par Ys” in breton means “like Ys”. (+more on the legend)
